HISTORY-WISE
- A Valens-tine
From Us to You

Our
newest CD, Looking
Back, has been having
tremendous response.
With songs such as Crying
In the Chapel, Mansion
Over the Hilltop, I
Believe, and May the Good
Lord Bless and Keep You,
people have found
themselves just singing
along. The songs are
rather laid back and the
CD can really function as
a sing-a-long, just
sit back and relax and
enjoy.
And
now you can go to http://ipod.frankie-valens-music-ipod.com
and download any of our
music, including this
latest release. We
pay a fee so you can
download for free.
(Hmm, that rhymes!)
But we figure there are
people who will download
songs that might not come
to our concerts, and they
can still be ministered to
with our music. Just
another high-tech
opportunity.
BLESSINGS-WISE
- All glory to
our Heavenly Father!
What they're saying.
***We
had the most visitors
tonight that we've ever
had for any event.
(a pastor)
***Your
ministry really touched me
tonight. I was
enthralled the whole time.
***This
was the first time the
hairs on my arm stood up
for a long time. It
was all about Jesus.
KJV-WISE
- This column is a
regular feature of our
e-newsletters. We maintain
that the Authorized
King James Version of
the Bible is the only pure
Word of God.
"In
that day the Lord will
take away...the wimples,
and the crisping
pins, The glasses.."
Isaiah 3:18, 22
KJV
"In
that day the Lord will
snatch
away...[wimples-omitted],
the purses and mirrors..."
NIV
"In
that day the Lord will
take away the
[wimples-omitted], money
purses, hand mirrors..."
NASB
"In
that day the Lord will
take away
the...[wimples-omitted], and
the handbags,
[glasses-omitted]...RSV
First
of all, the meaning of
"wimples" is
"curled hair; veils
crimped."
Secondly, "crisping
pins" is defined as
"Pins heated up to
curl hair; curling
irons." (from
"The King James Bible
Companion" by David
W. Daniels)
"Strong's
Concordance and various
new versions toss logic,
the Hebrew text, and every
dictionary aside and
substitute the word 'purses.'
Instead of translating the
Hebrew word, charitim,
which simply means
"an engraving tool,
stylus, or pen," they
copy the error in the
corrupt Brown, Driver,
Briggs and Gesenius Hebrew
Lexicon. The lexicon
admits "purse"
is not a translation but
"by impl.",
meaning "a guess
implied."
"Anyone
who has seen a child's
engraving set knows that
it is identical to a
curling iron, with its
metal rod or pin, handle,
and electric cord.
The heated metal which
melts the face of the
surface to be engraved,
would also curl hair or
fabric wrapped around it.
"These
bachelor lexical writers
could not imagine how an
engraving tool could be
related to a discussion of
women's apparel. So
they guessed that the
hollow that could be
created by an engraving
tool (and not the tool
itself) was being
addressed and consequently
a hollow object, perhaps a
purse, might be implied
(lied).
"[Some]
documentation for the KJV
rendering "crisping
pin" [follows]:
"Never
powder, nor crisping-iron,
Shall touch these dangling
locks." Q.
Corinth, Fletcher, 1618
"Cease,
with crisping tongs, to
tare and torture thus thy
flowing hair."
Ann.Reg., 1772
'Crisp'
also applies to fabric.
The Old English Dictionary
says,
"Applied
to some fabrics; perhaps
of crepelike
texture...Some thin or
delicate textile fabric,
used esp. By women for
veils or head
covering..."
(from "The
Language of the King James
Bible", by
Gail Riplinger, pages 52
and 53)
Additionally,
items in sequence often
are items found together.
The sequence of wimples,
(curled hair), crisping
pins (curling irons) and
glasses (mirrors) is very
logical. But if you
want to make your own
changes, for whatever
reason, you drop one of
the "bookends"
(wimples) and then you
don't have to be
concerned about
sequence, and you can
insert your own supposedly "implied"
word, purses. No
logic needed. You
just do your own thing.
There
may be some who are
saying that "crisping
pins/purses" has
nothing to do with my
salvation. But we
are talking about God's
Word here, and there is a
principal involved.
Barring logic and the pure
words, man has once again
changed the meaning of
this word and passage, and
this is just another
example of "...add
unto these
things...and...take away
from the words of the book
of this prophecy..."
(Revelation 22:18, 19 KJV)
and God is very specific
about the results of these
actions: "God
shall take away his part
out of the book of life,
and out of the holy city,
and from the things which
are written in this
book." (v.
19) So after all,
this does have
something to do with one's
salvation. Don't
trifle with God.
Let's get back to His pure
Word.

III John 2
BANANA
FACTS THAT MAY SURPRISE
YOU!
Containing
three natural sugars -
sucrose, fructose and
glucose combined with
fiber - a banana
gives an instant,
sustained and substantial
boost of energy. Research
has proven that just two
bananas provide enough
energy for a strenuous
90-minute workout. No
wonder the banana is the
number one fruit with the
world’s leading
athletes.
But
energy isn’t the only
way a banana can help us
keep fit. It can also help
overcome or prevent a
substantial number of
illnesses and conditions,
making it a must to add to
our daily diet.
Anemia:
High in iron, bananas can
stimulate the production
of hemoglobin in the blood
and so helps in case of
anemia.
Blood
Pressure:
This unique tropical fruit
is extremely high in
potassium yet low in salt,
making it the perfect food
to beat blood pressure. So
much so, the US Food and
Drug Administration has
just allowed the banana
industry to make official
claims for the fruit’s
ability to reduce the risk
of blood pressure and
stroke.
Brain
Power:
200 students at a
Twickenham (Middlesex)
school were helped through
their exams this year by
eating bananas at
breakfast, break, and
lunch in a bid to boost
their brain power.
Research has shown that
the potassium-packed fruit
can assist learning by
making pupils more alert.
Constipation:
High in fiber, including
bananas in the diet can
help restore normal bowel
action, helping to
overcome the problem
without resorting to
laxatives.
Depression:
According to a recent
survey undertaken by MIND
amongst people suffering
from depression, many felt
much better after eating a
banana. This is because
bananas contain tryptophan,
a type of protein that the
body converts into
serotonin, known to make
you relax, improve your
mood and generally make
you feel happier.
Hangovers:
One of the quickest ways
of curing a hangover is to
make a banana milkshake,
sweetened with honey. The
banana calms the stomach
and, with the help of the
honey, builds up depleted
blood sugar levels, while
the milk soothes and
re-hydrates your system.
Heartburn:
Bananas have a natural
antacid effect in the
body, so if you suffer
from heartburn, try eating
a banana for soothing
relief.
Morning
Sickness:
Snacking on bananas
between meals helps to
keep blood sugar levels up
and avoid morning
sickness.
Mosquito
bites:
Before reaching for the
insect bite cream, try
rubbing the affected area
with the inside of a
banana skin. Many people
find it amazingly
successful at reducing
swelling and irritation.
Nerves:
Bananas are high in B
vitamins that help calm
the nervous system.
Overweight
and at work?
Studies at the Institute
of Psychology in Austria
found pressure at work
leads to gorging on
comfort food like
chocolate and crisps.
Looking at 5,000 hospital
patients, researchers
found the most obese were
more likely to be in
high-pressure jobs. The
report concluded that, to
avoid panic-induced food
cravings, we need to
control our blood sugar
levels by snacking on high
carbohydrate foods every
two hours to keep levels
steady.
PMS:
Forget the pills - eat a
banana. The vitamin B6 it
contains regulates blood
glucose levels, which can
affect your mood.
Seasonal
Affective Disorder (SAD):
Bananas can help SAD
sufferers because they
contain the natural mood
enhancer, tryptophan.
Smoking:
Bananas can also help
people trying to give up
smoking. The B6, B12 they
contain, as well as the
potassium and magnesium
found in them, help the
body recover from the
effects of nicotine
withdrawal.
Stress:
Potassium is a vital
mineral which helps
normalize the heartbeat,
sends oxygen to the brain
and regulates your
body’s water balance.
When we are stressed, our
metabolic rate rises,
thereby reducing our
potassium levels. These
can be rebalanced with the
help of a high-potassium
banana snack.
Strokes:
According to research in
"The New England
Journal of Medicine,"
eating bananas as part of
a regular diet can cut the
risk of death by strokes
by as much as 40%!
Temperature
control:
Many other cultures see
bananas as a
"cooling" fruit
that can lower both the
physical and emotional
temperature of expectant
mothers. In Thailand, for
example pregnant women eat
bananas to ensure their
baby is born with a cool
temperature.
Ulcers:
The banana is used as the
dietary food against
intestinal disorders
because of its soft
texture and smoothness. It
is the only raw fruit that
can be eaten without
distress in
over-chronicler cases. It
also neutralizes
over-acidity and reduces
irritation by coating the
lining of the stomach.
Now
you'll probably never look
at a banana the same way
again.
MUSIC-WISE
- JESUS
LOVES ME

Anna
and Susan Warner lived in
a lovely townhouse in New
York City where their
father, Henry Whiting
Warner, was a successful
lawyer. But the
"Panic of 1837"
wrecked the family's
finances, forcing them to
move into a ramshackle
Revolutionary War-era home
on Constitution Island on
the Hudson, right across
from the Military Academy
at West Point.
Needing
to contribute to the
family income, Anna and
Susan began writing poems
and stories for
publication. Anna
wrote "Robinson
Crusoe's Farmyard,"
and Susan wrote, "The
Wide, Wide World."
The girls thus launched
parallel literary careers
which resulted in 106
publications, eighteen of
them co-authored.
One
of their most successful
joint projects was a
novel titled Say and
Seal in which a
little boy named Johnny
Fox is dying. His
Sunday School teacher,
John Linden, comforts him
by taking him in his arms,
rocking him, and making up
a little song, "Jesus
loves me, this I know, for
the Bible tells me
so..."
The
novel became a
best-seller, second only
to Uncle Tom's Cabin,
and when hymnwriter
William Bradbury read the
words of John Linden's
little song (written by
Anna), he composed a
childlike musical score to
go along with it.
"Jesus Loves Me"
soon became the best-known
children's hymn on earth.
Jesus
loves me, this I know, For
the Bible tells me so;
Little ones to Him belong,
They are weak, but He is
strong.
Jesus
loves me, He who died,
Heaven's gate to open
wide.
He will wash away my sin,
Let His little child come
in.
Jesus
take this heart of mine,
Make it pure and wholly
Thine;
Thou has bled and died for
me, I will
hence-forth live for Thee.
Jesus
loves me, He will stay,
Close beside me all the
way;
He's prepared a home for
me, And someday His face
I'll see.
Yes,
Jesus loves me, Yes, Jesus
loves me,
Yes, Jesus loves me, The
Bible tells me so.
(from
"Then Sings My
Soul" by Robert
J. Morgan)
(Editor's
note: I have been
told that I was singing
that song at age three,
but of course I don't
remember!)
LAUGH-WISE
-
GARDEN OF LOVE
Cabbage
always has a heart;
Green
beans string along.
You're
such a Tomato,
Will
you Peas to me belong?
You've
been the Apple of my eye,
You
know how much I care;
So
Lettuce get together,
We'd
make a perfect Pear.
Now,
something's sure to
Turnip,
To
prove you can't be Beet;
So,
if you Carrot all for me
Let's
let our Tulips meet.
Don't
Squash my hopes and dreams
now,
Bee
my Honey, dear;
Or
tears will fill Potato's
eyes,
While
Sweet Corn lends an ear.
I'll
Cauliflower shop and say
Your
dreams are Parsley mine.
I'll
work and share my Celery,
So
be my Valentine.

KID-WISE
- A nurse on the
pediatric ward, before
listening to the little
ones' chests, would plug
the stethoscope into their
ears and let them listen
to their own hearts.
Their eyes would always
light up with awe, but she
never got a response equal
to four-year-old David's
comment.
Gently
she tucked the stethoscope
into his ears and placed
the disk over his heart.
"Listen,"
she said, "What do
you suppose that is?"
He
drew his eyebrows together
in a puzzled line and
looked up as if lost in
the mystery of the strange
tap-tap-tapping deep in
his chest.
Then
his face broke out in a
wondrous grin and he
asked, "Is that Jesus
knocking?"
PRAYER-WISE
- In the last
newsletter we requested
prayer for Paul and Trish
Jackson, music evangelists
and friends of ours.
Paul was diagnosed with
cancer and had the initial
surgery, and according
to the latest update we
received, Paul has begun
radiation treatments.
He is a "witnessing
guru" everywhere he
goes, so many people are
hearing the Word that
would not otherwise have
done so.
To
any pastors receiving
this information who
have had Paul and Trish
minister with you, you
might consider having
your congregation
receive a special
offering for them.
They have no physical
means of support right
now, not being able to
do their concerts, so
the body needs to help
God's servants in this
time of need. They
are doing the fresh
fruits and vegetables
route, as well as taking
Ambrotose, an extremely
fantastic supplement,
especially for this
purpose, but it is
also quite expensive.
Their needs alone for
supplements, etc. are
around $1,000.00 a
month. Let's not
just pray, let's help
where we can, show our
Christian love
for
these servants of
the Lord, and
financially is certainly
one way we can show that
love.
