Here at Jesus Kids we consider it our most important job to try help keep all the kids as safe as possible here at Jesus Kids and online. So we have put together a list of safety tips that will help you stay safe on the internet.  I hope that you will read them and stay safe online!

1. NEVER give out personal information like your address, telephone number or school name to anyone unless you have permission from your parents.

2. Ask your parents to spend time with you online. Not only will this help keep you safe, but it will be a fun time to spend with them!

3. Never meet with a cyberfriend or pen pal unless your parents go with you or you have their permission to go alone.

4. Only use the internet when your parents say it is okay.

5. Never respond to any e-mail messages you get if they are strange, mean or upsetting to you, and tell your parents or teachers right away. Ask your parents to sit with you when you check your email.

6. Never send pictures of yourself or your family to anyone unless you have permission from your parents.

7. Stop right away if you see or read something on a Web site that upsets you and tell your parents or teachers about it.

8. It is a good idea to use a "pretend" last name when you are asked for it online. Try using Smith or Jones, a very common name.

9. If anyone ever asks you for your password, do NOT give it to them. Tell your parents immediately.

10. Do not visit chat rooms alone, without your parents and when posting on message boards, never post any personal information such as your last name, address, phone number, school name, etc.

The internet can be a fun and educational place to play, learn and meet new friends. But it's important to remember these safety rules. The number one thing you can do to stay safe is to have your parents or teacher or other adult with you when you are online.

Happy and safe surfing!

NOTE TO PARENTS:  We will actively review all sites on a regular basis for appropriate content, but nothing can compare to adult supervision to insure your child is safe on the internet!
