HISTORY-WISE -  Our God is still the God of miracles today!  We were in a revival at the Poteau (OK) Church of the Nazarene, and Pastor David Gordon had given Frankie a check for food allowance, which he promptly folded up and put it in his pocket.  The next morning he was looking for it and couldn't find it.  I think he moved around every moveable piece in the motel, scoured the car, and still couldn't find it.  We were not a little concerned.

That noon we went to meet the pastor at the church to have lunch with him, and when we arrived at the church, Frankie parked next to the spot he had always parked in because the lines on the ground weren't clear to him.  When I got out of the van, there was that folded-up check on the ground!!!  It had probably fallen out of his pocket the previous night, had been in the parking lot all night, obviously had not blown away, and had Frankie parked in his "regular" spot, we might not have found it because he would have driven over it!!!  Is our God beyond awesome, or what?

In response to last month's story in our e-newsletter of the song "It Is No Secret" came the following:  You spoke of the story of Stuart Hamblen and the song "It Is No Secret."  Our church, the Evangelical Methodist Church, was founded by Dr. J. H. Hamblen, of Abilene, TX.  He had been a preacher in the Methodist Church for many years and was very close to retirement.  But when the liberalism became so rampant in the Methodist church, he gave up his retirement and with the aid of some others of like mind, organized the E. M. C.  Dr. J. H. Hamblen was the father of Stuart.

At this most thankful of seasons, we want to say that one of the things  we are very thankful for are our grandchildren.  Here are pictures of five of the Harmon (Debbie, oldest daughter) grandchildren.  Oldest grandson Garrett, age 19, is in his second year of college at Wichita State University with a 4.0 average (we're not too proud!), but I guess since he's in college, he doesn't get his picture taken.  The other five children are Grant, age 17; Clarissa, age 16; Masha (adopted Russian child), age 16; Spencer, age 14, and Wyatt, age 12.

More grandkids pics next e-newsletter.

And further, family-wise, we want to feature Frankie's mom,

Who will be turning 86 on November 29th.  She lives with her other son in Oklahoma and attends the church that Frankie's dad and she preached at in the 70s.  Guess you're never too old to have your mom sitting on your lap!

Thanksgiving-wise, the following picture was taken by Frankie's son Brian.  He said a family of 20 of them pass through his front yard every day.  Fresh turkeys, anyone?  Brian has been helping us with inserting all the pictures since we don't know how to do it.  Thanks, Brian.

BLESSINGS-WISE - All glory to our Heavenly Father!  What they're saying.

***Thank you for the AWESOME newsletter!

***I have your pictures on my dresser under the glass top.  I touch it and pray for you guys almost every day.  I want to add that God is so good...I am still glad that God put you two in my path.  Your pictures constantly remind me that this is God's world and we are in it and His eye is on us.  Meeting you guys was no accident.  My friends that do not go to church anymore because of some dumb reason or another, are in awe that I ran into you guys in "church" one night.  Well you guys are like dessert after a good meal.  God is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.  I can also remember a guy named Thomas that skipped church one day and Jesus visited their little group behind closed doors.  You never know who is going to be there, just be there...I hope to meet again some day here in Minnesota and for sure up in heaven.  Bet you two will sing a few together with King David...God bless and keep you both very well and anointed.  Love in Jesus Christ,

***We certainly enjoy your music each time you lovely people come to praise God in song and notes at Immanuel United Methodist Church.  You both are truly blessed in your work to bring others closer to the Lord.  Thank you, God bless.

***Thanks so much for coming to Fredonia and sharing your personal witness of the power of Jesus on Saturday evening.  We enjoyed meeting you and appreciated the concert.

KJV-WISE  - Why does the New King James Version omit key words to mankind's salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ?

"Now the serpent was more subtil..." Gen. 3:1

The NKJV Omits Key Christian Words:

"Lord" - 66 times

"God" - 51 times

"heaven" - 50 times

"repent" - 44 times

"blood" - 23 times

"hell" - 22 times

"JEHOVAH" - entirely

"new testament" - entirely

"damnation" - entirely

"devils" - entirely

The NKJV ignored the KJV Greek Textus Receptus over 1,200 times.  The NKJV replaced the trustworthy KJV Hebrew Old Testament (ben Chayyim Masoretic Text) with corrupt Biblia Hebraica from Stuttgart (ben Asher).  (from The Language of the King James Bible by Gail Riplinger, p. 146)

HEALTH-WISE - "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest...be in health..." III John 2

We hear a lot about sinus infections, particularly at this time of year.  Frankie and I have had our share of them.  Some time ago we learned of a product called Nasaline.  Nasaline® is a unique, patented, drug-free nasal irrigation system designed by a team of Swedish ear, nose, and throat specialists. With the simple use of a saline solution, Nasaline® effectively cleanses nasal passages.

We were told some time ago that Oprah had a demonstration of this product on her show, and the results were phenomenal.  Frankie and I can say the same thing.

Go to the web site www.tropicaltraditions.com/nasaline.htm and at this writing the Nasaline navigator is only $12.99.  The procedure is very simple, using only warm water and 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and works wonders for the sinuses.  Do not tolerate sinus infections any longer.  Get relief, drug-free and inexpensively.  Both Frankie and I recommend it.

MUSIC-WISE -

Next week we will likely be starting a new CD project. This will be what I call quasi-gospel songs of the 50s and Elvis gospel, such as He, May the Good Lord Bless and Keep You, My Prayer, Crying in the Chapel, etc.  We'll have a good time recording this, and we feel that the people who come to our concerts will enjoy it also.  Stay tuned (tee hee!) .

AMAZING FACTS-WISE -  A colossal statue of a great lion perched atop a prominent hill commemorates the battle of Waterloo.  The menacing, open-mouthed figure was forged from the cannons left strewn across the battlefield.  Once, a tiny bird tended her young within the gaping jaws of the lion - a strange picture:  the little birds snugly living between the teeth of a huge lion.  (From Hidden Truths:  Amazing Bible Facts, p. 15)

LAUGH-WISE

***When the subject of marriage counseling came up, my uncle said, "Your aunt and I never needed any.  She was a communications major in college; I majored in theater arts."  "What's that got to do with a successful relationship?" I asked.  "She's good at communicating," he said, "and I'm good at acting like I'm listening."

***A highway patrolman pulled alongside a speeding car on the freeway.  Glancing at the car, he was astounded to see that the blonde behind the wheel was knitting!  Realizing that she was oblivious to his flashing lights and siren, the trooper cranked down his window, turned on his bullhorn and yelled, "PULL OVER!"  "NO!" the blonde yelled back, "IT'S A SCARF!"

***Yesterday I went to the doctor for my yearly physical.  My blood pressure was high, my  cholesterol was high, I'd gained some weight, and I didn't feel so hot.  My doctor said eating right doesn't have to be complicated and it would solve my physical problems.  He said just think in colors...Fill your plate with bright colors...greens, yellows, reds, etc.  I went right home and ate an entire bowl of M&Ms  and sure enough, I felt better immediately.  I never knew eating right could be easy.

SIGN-WISE - A man traveling in southern Indiana was headed for the Kentucky border when he saw a large sign ... "LAST CHANCE FOR $1.25 GAS!!!"  He still had more than a quarter of a tank left, but figured he'd better take advantage of this opportunity to fill-up his tank.  As he was getting his change from the attendant, he asked, "How much is gas in Kentucky?"  The attendant replied, "$1.10."

KID-WISE - more Bible Stories by Kids, from the book Little Wonders by Mary Hollingsworth.

Another important Bible guy is Moses, whose real name was Charlton Hestor.  Moses led the Israel Lights out of Egypt and away from the evil Pharoah after God sent ten plagues on Pharoah's people.  These plagues included frogs, mice, lice, bowels, and no cable.  God fed the Israel Lights every day with manicotti.  Then He gave them His top ten Commandments.  These include don't lie, cheat, smoke, dance, or covet your neighbor's bottom (the Bible uses a bad word for bottom that I'm not supposed to say.  But my Dad uses it sometimes when he talks about the President.)  Oh, yeah, I just thought of one more:  Humor they father and they mother.

One of Moses' best helpers was Joshua who was the first Bible guy to use spies.  Joshua fought the battle of Geritol and the fence fell over on the town.

After Joshua came David.  He got to be king by killing a giant with a slingshot.  He had a son named Solomon who had about 300 wives and 500 porcupines.  My teacher says he was wise, but that doesn't sound very wise to me.  After Solomon there were a bunch of major league prophets.  One of these was Jonah, who was swallowed by a big whale and barfed up on the shore.  There were also some minor league prophets, but I guess we don't have to worry about them.

After the Old Testament came the New Testament.  Jesus is the star of the New Testament.  He was born in Bethlehem in a barn.  (I wish I had been born in a barn, too, because my mom is always saying to me, "Close the door!  Were you born in a barn?"  It would be nice to say, "As a matter of fact, I was.")

During His life, Jesus had many arguments with sinners like the Pharisees and the Republicans.  Jesus also had twelve opossums.  The worst one was Judas Asparagus.  Judas was so evil that they named a terrible vegetable after him.

Jesus was a great man.  He healed many leopards and even preached to some Germans on the Mount.  But the Republicans and all those guys put Jesus on trial before Pontius the Pilot.  Pilot didn't stick up for Jesus.  He just washed his hands instead.

Anyways, Jesus died for our sins, then came back to life again.  He went up to Heaven but will be back at the end of the Aluminum.  His return is foretold in the book of Revolution.

MOVIE-WISE -  There is a new movie scheduled to be released December 7, 2007 as a "kid's movie" that is really dangerous to the Christian faith, especially of young children.  "The Golden Compass" is really a renaming of a 1995 book released in Great Britain called "Northern Lights".  Here is how the Wikipedia Online Encyclopedia describes it:

"Northern Lights is the first novel in the His Dark Materials triolgy, written by British novelist Philip Pullman and published in 1995 . The story begins when Lyra Belacqua - an orphaned, eleven-year-old girl residing at Jordan College, secretly enters the Retiring Room, despite resistance from her demon, Pantalaimon, an animal-formed, shape-shifting manifestation of her soul..."

In this movie, each of the characters is demon-possessed!  This fact alone should serve as a huge wake-up call to every Christian parent (although that didn't seem to stop thousands and thousands of "Christians" from embracing Harry Potter).  This movie is not suitable for any Christian, but especially those young kids whose Christian faith is still young, tender, and forming.

"As time passes children around Oxford begin to disappear by the hands of a group known as the Gobblers.  When Lyra's friend Roger is taken, she and her demon Pantalaimon set off on an epic journey to find him.  Before she can leave, the Master of Jordan College introduces Lyra to the beautiful Mrs. Coulter [played by Nicole Kidman].  Lyra is immediately taken by Mrs. Coulter and goes to live with her.  The morning of Lyra's departure, The Master calles her urgently into his office and gives her a strange instrument called an Alethiometer.  He tells her that it is capable of telling the truth but that it is up to her to read it.  He also pleas with her to keep the Alethiometer to herself."

This Alethiometer is apparently a type of Diviner which witches regularly use.  Of course, the power behind every Diviner ever used in Witchcraft is demonic.

The movie takes a very strong and abrupt anti-Christian theme.

"The Golden Compass movie seems to be an exciting children's tale, sharing much with the Chronicles of Narnia.  For example, both The Golden Compass and Narnia feature children facing adult moral choices, talking animals, religious allegories, parallel worlds, and concern the ultimate fate of those worlds.  They even begin the same way, with a young girl hiding in a wardrobe.  However, in the trilogy, a young streetwise girl becomes enmeshed in an epic struggle to ultimately defeat the oppressive forces of a senile God.  Another character, an ex-nun, describes Christianity as 'a very powerful and convincing mistake'.  In the final book, characters representing Adam and Eve witness the death of 'God' (who turns out to be an upstart angel, rather than the creator)."   (from Internet Movie Data Base, by Phillip Pullman).

"As you can see, this movie could change the way your beloved youngster views God.  This movie tells the young movie goer that God is both senile and a fake. The second book of the trilogy, The Subtle Knife, is more overt in its hatred of Christianity than the first book, and the third entry, The Amber Spyglass, is even more blatant.  The Catholic League wants Christians to stay away from this movie precisely because it knows that the film is bait for the books; unsuspecting parents who take their children to see the movie may be impelled to buy the three books as a Christmas present.  And no parent who wants to bring their children up in the faith will want any part of these books."  (from TheCatholicLeague.org)

Please protect "the little children" and do not subject them to this blatant demonic and evil portrayal of our world and our wonderful, loving God.

AN ALERT! ! !

"But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand."  Ezekiel 33:6 KJV

Our country is in very grave danger today, and the mainstream media is not reporting what is going on, probably because of obvious consequences of the actions being taken.  We don't usually get into this sort of information in our newsletters, but the situation is so serious that we feel we must warn you of what is going on.  I won't go into much detail here.  I'll include the web site for you to check out for yourself.  But here are a few quotes from some of the articles we have received lately:

"A constitutional and financial crisis now exists."

"The World will soon know how their leaders have conspired and those leaders will be held accountable."

"Criminal Collapse of Citibank & Morgan Stanley Imminent"

"WantaGate Exposes the Biggest Financial Corruption Crisis in World History: And it's getting worse...Drastic action is necessary to prevent a global catastrophe."

Dear Friends, our country is clearly in very deep trouble.  And we are passing this information on to you so you can have some knowledge about what is going on (because it is not being made available to the general public yet, for some very obvious reasons), and pray, and prepare.  Proverbs 27:12 says, "A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself; but the simple pass on, and are punished."  KJV

Check out www.worldreports.org/news for on-the-scene reports about these crises.  Don't be the ostrich with your head in the sand:  If I don't know it, it isn't happening.  Be fore-warned; pray; prepare.  This has all been prophesied - it will happen.  It is happening.  God help us all.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT-WISE - From the Heart of a Pastor

I certainly agree with Chuck Baldwin on apostasy (The Church in Apostasy - www.chuckbaldwinlive.com/c2007/cbarchive_2007/016.HTML)  This past two weeks Joel Osteen has been featured on nearly every t.v. Talk show because of his new book being released.  He's being called America's pastor.  One interviewer grilled him about the fact that he rarely mentions God and never mentions Jesus and many of the doctrines of our faith.  His message is feel good, self help psycho-babble.  And millions are flocking to it.  It appears to tickle their ears really good.  Fact is, people believe that Joel is relevant and the gospel, which focuses on the cross and dying to self and a real heaven and hell is not relevant.  I even  hear this.  People don't get the relevance of having Jesus Christ as the center of your life.  They'd rather hear it Joel Osteen style.  He's setting the standard that all of us preachers are supposed to live up to.  After all, 25,000 go to his church every Sunday and another 13-20 million listen on T.V.  It works for Joel.  He brings in 35-50 million a year.  I want another Tozer or Spurgeon.  Then I'm reminded that Jeremiah never won a single convert.  And Jesus, after 3 years only had 120 in the upper room.  Maranatha, Even so come Lord!  I'm more than ready.

LAST BLAST-WISE - Talking to men for God is a great thing, but talking to God for men is greater still.  E.M. Bounds

FINAL ADMONITION-WISE - " This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the Lord."  Psalm 102:18 KJV
