HISTORY-WISE
- At one of our concerts in
Illinois we met Mary and
Joseph! He is 91 and is in a
rest home, and a lady from the
church where we were to present a
concert, told us about him, and
how he has been such a pillar in
their church, and had always been
a very "up" type
person. However, he broke a
bone in one of his legs recently,
then broke another bone in that
same leg, and he was getting a bit
discouraged. I think
so! She told us this before
the concert, because he and his
wife really wanted to come to our
concert, so we asked if we could
go see him - take the concert to
him! She said - you'd do
that? We said, yes, we had
the time. So it was only about a
5-minute drive to the rest home,
and his wife was also there with
him. His eyes absolutely lit
up when we walked in the
door. Frankie sang a portion
of "This Magic Moment"
and we sang an old hymn, prayed
with him, then left. It was
a wonderful experience. His
wife did come to the concert and
she really was blessed, we
understand. People asked us,
"You went to see
Joe?" Sure did.
We had a
tremendous time with the AmeriKids
in O'Fallon, MO. Some
friends of ours there have a
Christian Day Care, AmeriKids, and
they invited us in to do a
concert. It was in a high
school auditorium,and there were
nearly all ages of children, who
sang two songs before we presented
our concert. It was
precious. Mike, the
owner, had told us that a young
boy named Dakota's seventh
birthday was that day, and would
we sing Happy Birthday to
him. It worked out that we
could, so while he was still on
the stage from having sung with
the group, we had the whole crowd
sing to him. He broke down
in tears and just sobbed! He
had been having a lot of problems
at home - his mom and dad had
separated, another man came into
the picture, then his dad died in
April. Heartaches a child of
six had to experience. I
think the attention was too
much for him, but we
both just loved on him while
he was still on the stage.
It was an experience we'll
never forget.
Last month we
told you about a
pastor who took some pictures
we had autographed in to the
prison with him, and all ten of
the men with pictures got
saved. Here is a
follow-up: The inmates are
still talking about those pictures
they were blessed with. Some
have served their time and have
been released, some keep the
picture of you and Phyllis in
their cell. While others
keep them in their Bible, the
testimony is these black and white
pictures remind them that God
loves them and so do others, even
Christians who are known for their
music, past and present. God
Bless You!!!!!!
BLESSINGS-WISE
- All glory to our
Heavenly Father! What
they're saying.
***I knew it
[our concert] was going to be
good, but you surpassed anything
that I could ever have imagined!
*** First off I
have to tell you what a wonderful
blessing I received from seeing
you both and getting to say a few
words to you, when you came to
Waynesville, Missouri. You
are the kind of people I wish I
could live next to. Not that
the neighbors I have aren't
wonderful, but I felt a closeness
to you both I haven't felt in a
long time. I was so very
blessed.
Now thank you for
your newsletter. The
pictures and personal stories
were even a more blessing to
me. You are right, our God
is a wonderful God to which
there is no other...I am so glad
you get to bless so many people
and touch so many lives with
your songs of praise and your
words of worship. I know
you must get real tired and rest
for you is scarce, but hang in
there. Your reward is
waiting in heaven.
I became 70
August the 16th...You must get a
million letters every day.
Just wanted to let you know I
care about the both of you.
***I don't know
when I've enjoyed a concert so
much.
***Man, that was
just great! That was
super! (a pastor)
***Thank you so
much for the wonderful concert
last night. Everyone enjoyed
it immensely...We hope to have you
come and minister to us again
sometime in the future.
God's richest blessings on your
ministry and on both of you.

KJV-WISE
- I've heard it said that the
Bible calls Jonah's entombment,
"a big fish," that it
doesn't say "whale" and
the new versions confirm
this. Jesus is speaking in
Matthew 12:40 in the following:
NASB - for
just as Jonah was three days and
three nights in the belly of the
sea monster...
NCV - Jonah
was in the stomach of the big fish...
CEV - He was
in the stomach of a big fish...
NIV - For as
Jonah was three days and three
nights in the belly of a huge fish...
NL - For as
Jonah was in the belly of the
great fish...
NKJV - For
as Jonah was three days and three
nights in the belly of the great
fish...
The Message - Like
Jonah, three days and nights in
the fish's belly...
However, note
this. The King James
identifies the "big
fish" as a whale. Jesus
was speaking in Matthew 12:40,
when he said,
KJV - "For
as Jonas was three days and three
nights in the whale's belly;
...
Obviously Jesus
wanted the clarification so He
spoke it. I find it
interesting that not one of the
above versions, except the KJV,
identifies the fish as a
whale. So unless you are
reading the King James, you won't
know that the "big fish"
really was a whale. Wonder
why they didn't want the
clarification? Guess I can't
answer that one.
HEALTH-WISE -
"Beloved, I wish above
all things that thou mayest...be
in health..." III John 2
Cancer today is
at an all-time high. We just
recently lost another friend to
cancer, and we have many requests
on our Daily Prayer List for
healings from cancer.
Here are some
statements regarding some of the
known causes of cancer:
***"Oxygen
deprivation can also lead to
life-threatening disease, such
as cancer. Cancer and
most other infections or disease
cannot live in an oxygen-rich
environment. Dr. Otto
Warburg, two-time Nobel Laureate
for cancer research, stated:
"Cancer has
only one prime cause. It is
the replacement of normal oxygen
respiration of the body's cells by
an anaerobic (i.e., oxygen
deficient) cell respiration."
(The Prime Cause and
Prevention of Cancer by Dr.
Otto Warburg in The Oxygen
Answer for Health and Healing
by Tonita d'Raye, p. 10)
Translation: cancer cells
replace the body's good cells.
***A diet high
in processed foods and "junk
foods" requires tremendous
amounts of oxygen in order to be
metabolized...Our body has to use
precious oxygen needed for other
essential metabolic functions in
order to process oxygen-deficient
food. (Ibid, p. 11)
***Leading
biochemists and medical
physiologists say that aging and
many diseases (including cancer)
result from the accumulation of
acid waste products in body cells
and tissues. (Ibid, p. 12,
13)
***Low levels of
oxygen result in increased
free-radical production. A
deficiency in cellular oxygen will
also prevent our body from
utilizing antioxidants and other
nutrients effectively...Regardless
of the health-promoting potential
any nutrient may have, very little
metabolic value can be experienced
from it if our body is oxygen
deficient. (Ibid, p. 14)
***People with
candida and other immune
suppressive diseases such as AIDS,
Epstien Barr, chronic fatigue
syndrome, and fibryomyalgia all
have one thing in common--a lack
of oxygen available to the
bloodstream. Numerous
researchers conclude that
increased oxygenation in the
bloodstream will definitely
enhance, and possibly even
restore, health. (Ibid, p.
22)
***The result of
oxygen deprivation to the brain is
memory loss, dementia, and
possibly even Alzheimer's....Heart
attacks strike when blood flow is
restricted completely, and the
heart dies of oxygen
deprivation. (Ibid, p. 23)
One of the best
ways you can add oxygen to your
diet is through a product called stabilized
oxygen. It is
a liquid, and you start out by
adding a few drops of it in the
water you drink. You
gradually add more drops as you go
on.
***Take
stabilized oxygen every day, just
as you do your vitamin, mineral,
and other nutritional supplements
to promote health in every
way. (Ibid, p. 23)
Do a Google
search on stabilized
oxygen for more
information regarding this amazing
supplement.
We purchased
ours at www.liquid-stabilized-oxygen.com
and found this particular product
to be the best, and least
expensive of all that we
researched. From that web

AMAZING
FACTS-WISE - To
simulate one-hundredth of a second
of the complete processing of even
a single nerve cell from the human
eye requires several minutes of
processing time on a
supercomputer. The human eye
has 10 million or more such cells
constantly interacting with each
other in complex ways. This
means it would take a minimum of
100 years of supercomputing to
simulate what takes place in your
eye many times every second!

LAUGH-WISE
-
For all those special blondes in
your life.
***Two blondes
living in Oklahoma were sitting on
a bench talking, and one blonde
says to the other, "Which do
you think is farther away.
Florida or the moon?"
The other blonde turns and says,
"Helloooooooooo, can you see
Florida????"
***There's this
blonde out for a walk. She
comes to a river and sees another
blonde on the opposite bank.
"Yoo-hoo!" she
shouts. "How can I get
to the other side?" The
second blonde looks up the river
then down the river and shouts,
"You ARE on the other
side."
***A blonde was
playing Trivial Pursuit one
night. It was her
turn. She rolled the dice
and she landed on Science &
Nature. Her question was,
"If you are in a vacuum and
someone calls your name, can you
hear it?" She thought
for a time and then asked,
"Is it on or off?"
***A girl was
visiting her blonde friend, who
had acquired two new dogs, and
asked her what their names
were. The blonde responded
by saying that one was named Rolex
and one was named Timex. Her
friend said, "Whoever heard
of someone naming dogs like
that?" "HELLLOOOOOOO..."
answered the blond.
"They're watch dogs!"

One of our
favorite jobs has been leading
junior church. We try to do
more than baby-sit our church's
beloved little ankle-biters during
their time in our special junior
church facility. We aim to
give them a solid background in
biblical history. At the end
of each year, we give them pencils
and paper and ask them to
chronicle what they have
learned. This assignment
never fails to elicit some
intriguing response.
In case you're a
little foggy on your biblical
history, let our junior church
students help you with this
complete overview of the Bible,
compiled from their essays:
In the
beginning, which occurred near the
start, there was nothing but God,
darkness, and some gas. The
Bible says, "The Lord thy God
is one," but I think He must
be a lot older than that.
Anyway, God said, "Give me a
light" and someone did.
Then God made the world.
He split the
Adam and made Eve. Adam and
Eve were naked, but they weren't
embarrassed because mirrors hadn't
been invented yet. Adam and
Eve disobeyed God by eating one
bad apple, so they were driven
from the Garden of Eden. Not
sure what they were driven in
though, because they didn't have
cars.
Adam and Eve had
a son, Cain, who hated his brother
as long as he was Abel.
Pretty soon all
of the earth people died off,
except for Methuselah, who lived
to be like a million or something.
One of the next
important people was Noah, who was
a good guy, but one of his kids
was kind of a ham. Noah
built a large boat and put his
family and some animals on
it. He asked some other
people to join him, but they said
they would have to take a rain
check.
After Noah came
Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
Jacob was more famous than his
brother, Esau, because Esau sold
Jacob his birthmark in exchange
for some pot roast. Jacob
had a son named Joseph who wore a
really loud sport coat.

FOOD FOR
THOUGHT-WISE - From
the Desk of Don C. Schneider,
North American Division President
Six
tribal villages in an isolated
location in Asia were visited by a
"stranger" who was
described as having an aura of
bright light around him. The
stranger gave each chief a radio,
showed him how to use it, and
directed him to the time and
frequency of the Adventist World
Radio programs. Then the
stranger disappeared. The
villagers began to listen to the
broadcasts, accepted Jesus, and
are now keeping the Sabbath.
The six villages have had no
contact with each other, but the
village chiefs all told the same
story to the person who met
them. They believe that the
stranger was an angel.
